Here on Reel From The Real, i write what i’ve learned in investing x personal finance.
My goal is to:
share optimistic and positive energy - because the hustle is real x rough enough
personalise personal finance that bit more.
😎 To your wealth,

Late one night, as we gisted on Zoom, my friend told me I sound relatable and very passionate about personal wealth. “When most people speak about personal finance, they sound textbook-y, but you sound real. You talk like you’ve lived it, not just read it.”
I feel I know why she said this.
A lot of content on personal finance, investing and wealth is … mechanical. What you must do. The math of money. Tools you can use. Apps you should download. Charts you should decode. Communities you can join. Laws you should understand.
All these things are necessary. In fact, without them, you will struggle to reach your financial goals.
But, here’s what I’ve also learned.
Given the mindset that is required to accelerate your way to wealth, given the long and winding road that you and your money must walk, we don’t focus enough on the psychological. Who you must be. The psychology of money. We talk a lot about how money needs to grow, the habits you need to adopt and those you need to drop, but not enough about who you need to become.
“In order to succeed,
you must first survive”
- Warren Buffett
The steps in your mental journey.
The feelings you will have. The questions you will ask.
The decisions you will make, because they will come.
The setbacks you will face, because they will occur.
“Successful investment is a battle for financial survival.
Nothing is more difficult than consistently and fairly profiting.
This is the problem which the “Man on the Street”,
Often far from a success in his own field,
Thinks he can easily solve.
- Gerald Loeb
I tell my sisters all the time, if I had studied psychology and finance at university, I would be 100X wealthier than I am now, and would be writing this newsletter to you from my retirement mansion somewhere on Earth.
This is why I write.
While others focus on investments, I am obsessed with the Investor.
While others focus on personal finance, I am curious about the person in finance.
Who it takes.
Not what it takes, but who it takes.
Because if your mind doesn’t make it, neither will your money.
“Richness is as much
a matter of character,
of philosophy and attitude,
as it is of money.”
- John Paul Getty
